HEREDIS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF GENEALOGY

with its 2025 version!
ANNIVERSARY Version

Heredis 2025

Heredis 2025 is the version marking the 30th anniversary of the software with more than 30 innovations! An ANNIVERSARY version to celebrate this milestone.

WHAT IS NEW?

Heredis 2025 is, by far, the most extensive upgrade we’ve ever released for our genealogy software. The 2025 version includes more than 30 innovations. Almost every section of the application has been significantly improved: new features everyone was looking forward to, novelties features pioneered by Heredis, improvements to make your life easier, improvements imagined by our users.

Label people, guilt free!

Don’t leave them in a remote corner!

Location Trees

Location trees allow you to highlight your ancestors’ birthplaces, and – starting with this version – their marriage and death places!

New types of events

Whether you are dealing with estates or notarial records, Heredis now offers specifically designed items (“succession deed” and “notarial deed”) for these events. A way to make your ancestors’ lives more complete, filling up gaps in their timeline!

And also...

Immediate Family

Parents’ and grandparents’ marriage information is clearly displayed in the Immediate Family view.

Tiny tree

A Tiny tree is included in the summary so you always have a background view of the family you are working on.

Customize the family status

Specify “short-term relationships” or “marital life of unmarried couples with children” and bulk search/edit.

Bulk processing

All your notes can simultaneously be marked as private, you can bulk edit places of events/facts as well as flags you have added/created…

Alternate names

Alternate names can be exported to books and sheets.

Export persons from a book

Easily generate a file with only the persons from a book in Heredis or Gedcom format.

Custom report

List all the facts found in your file, sort them by type of facts… can be edited from the Smart Search.

Unused subdivisions

Bulk clean your file by deleting all unused subdivisions simultaneously!

Data entry assistance

Display the lists of events or facts, or even of the witness’ role, that are already overwritten.

In addition, a number of other improvements have been developed specifically for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms…

What users are saying about Heredis 2025

5/5

I think the new version is great. No errors found at the moment.
The color labels are the best new feature this year. They help to create different lists.

Indeed, like previous years, I think the new version is beautiful. The many innovations and adjustments such as : smart search, birthday widget, alternate names and so many new functions. The amount of work you put into it is innumerable. Hopefully we will be there again next year.

Gui

The new version is great – I still found one error and wait on the result on the gedcom import issue still but apart of this is all ok. Color coding offers a lot of new opportunities.

I have been using Heredis for several years now and this time I am particularly pleased about the isolated branches and the color labels.
Heredis is for me one of the best comprehensive genealogy programs and despite the many functions, which could possibly overwhelm a newcomer at the beginning, the clarity of the data or functions is still a super big plus and so far incomparable.
Therefore, once again, a big thank you to everyone, especially to the programmers and the patience when we have reported things.

… the new features are nice additions.

The Isolated Branches tool is very useful for checking the databases. Flags allow you to combine persons and events and make further research easier.

Heredis remains my favorite application for processing my family trees (yes, I do multiple of those). Heredis was already offering features such as working with witnesses, shared events among people and untraceable parents that really helped out in finding missing links between individuals.

New features of Heredis 2025 such as labels keep on adding tools for those that want to dig deeper in their data. Other features provide a smoother user interface or allow to customize data viewing or processing to the personal taste and need.
