Re: Surname field mandatory

Dear All, Further to billdog's suggestion I do something similar when a surname is unknown but I just use the ? character, partly as it is very quick to type but also I find it the most obvious way to show an unknown value and when looking at a name list it can't be confused with an actual name. Not...

Event Groupings

It would be useful to be able to have different Subsets of Events rather than all modified events listing under events. As it is possible to create modified events under any already present Heredis event e.g immigration, graduation, Census etc. If would be very useful to create new events to modify ...

Re: Ratification of Will

Thanks, but this does not answer the point that I was making. I know it is possible to change the event to a postmortem event. The point I was making is that as Heredis already has a heading Ratification of Will and a will is only ratified after a persons death it should not be inconsistent for it t...

Ratification of Will

In Heredis 2014 events I had created as a subset of "ratification of will" - were treated as postmortem events so did prompt Consistency Control issues but in Heredis 2017 they do. I know that I could create them as a postmortem event but events such as "Grant of Probate" fit better as subset of Rat...

UK Counties

1. Why does the fill up in the entering places box always enter UK counties as for example "County of Buckinghamshire" instead of just Buckinghamshire it is annoying to have to edit this each time? Nobody the the UK would every enter and address like that (with the exception of County Durham and I t...

Re: Using Heredis in Linux with WINE

Thanks!

Since seeing your post I have done a search of the language french forums (with the aid of my fairly basic language skills and google translate) as there a few more references there, as seemly Linux is more commonly used in France than in the UK.

Using Heredis in Linux with WINE

Are there any users of Linux operating systems that have experience of using Heredis in Linux with WINE. Heredis is listed on as one of the compatible programmes but no version number was given or date of listing so I don't know if it is the 2014 version that has been used or a much earlier version....

Translation / spelling errors

1.Problems In the Search Veiw " Birth of his Sisterr " - sister is spelt incorrectly, also all entries say " his " when main person is female when it should say " her " - please either correct this or remove so that line reads "Death of Sister" or "Birth of Daughter" for both male or female subjects...
