Re: Heredis Crash upon import of GEDCOM document
The patch worked on my MiniMac. Imported 3 Gedcom's today. One was very large. It did not find all the media on first import, only 65. I went back and clicked on one of the unknown media files and it found it and asked if I wanted to search for others. It then went on and found all of the missing fi...

Re: Quit without importing
Instead of using the GEDCOM exported from Family Tree Maker on my Mac, I downloaded GEDCOM from Ancestry and it loaded into Heredis but could not find Media. I directed Heredis to the Media directory kept by Family Tree Maker on my Mac but it still said it could not find media. It asked again for Me...

Re: Quit without importing
Same problem here. Exported GEDCOM from Family Tree Maker. Tried to import into 2017 and program quit before searching for media as 2016 did. Came up with error message which it said would be sent to Apple. I have copy of this message. Tried the process multiple times with small 200 person file with...

Re: Ancestry.com & Heredis
I use Ancestry and update "MY_Tree" mostly using their iPad app. I then sync the Ancestry online to Family Tree Maker on my MiniMac. I then export the GEDCOM from FTM and import it to "MY_Tree" on Heredis on my MiniMac. Heredis will ask where your media is and you can point it to the Media directory...

Re: heredis for android
I have done the import successfully as previously described and am satisfied with it. However, if I continue to use the Ancestry app on my iPad to extend my work. I am faced with continually updating my Heredis backup by exporting GEDCOM & Media and re-importing to Heredis. It would be great if I co...

Re: heredis for android
Android version of Heredis gives many options including all you named, OneDrive, SD card, downloads, Box, etc. Basicly, it appears to recognize any source your device has. I made my Android phone into a wifi host and signed in using the Mini Mac browser and uploaded the prepared file.

Re: heredis for android
Put Heredis for Android on my new Samsung Galaxy 6 and tried to import file prepared by Heredis on my Mini-Mac and import failed. Heredis did not recognize file. Had prepared files for 2 Different trees and both failed. Update: Apr 15, 2016 - Went back and prepared one of the trees into Android form...

Re: heredis for android
My prepared file for Android (.hmwz) was nearly 2 GB. If that expands to double the size, it will eat up quite a bit of space. I have not imported to my device as yet and am hoping that both the Heredis Android app and the data file can be stored on the SD card. I have several other trees that are o...
