Re: ancestry.com confusion; gedcom import

I haven't had any luck getting Heredis to accept a website, either. This seems to be something the developers should be looking at. I will hold off on using Heredis until the issue is resolved. The software is promising, but it isn't really ready for prime time quite yet.

Re: ancestry.com confusion; gedcom import

Open your genealogy file in Heredis 2015 > click on new > Online Archives > Bookmarks > Process bookmarks > click plus sign > type in Ancestry in the left column and http://www.ancestry.co.uk/ in the right column > click Close. So I found the Online Archives page and did a little exploring, but und...

Re: ancestry.com confusion; gedcom import

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I wasn't very clear. Let me try again. Once I start an Ancestry.com search from within Heredis I am directed to my external browser, and as my log-in data is saved there, there's no issue about access. So now I'm on the Ancestry.com site and I conduct my search. Onc...

Re: ancestry.com confusion; gedcom import

As no one has any suggestions on this question, is there a way to contact Heredis more directly?

Re: Ancestry.com & Heredis

Hi George -- thanks, that is actually very useful. I have the same workflow and see how it's possible to get things from Ancestry to Heredis via FTM. Maybe you can answer a related question, as no one else has jumped in. If I go to the search tab for an individual, I'm shown all the possible data si...

ancestry.com confusion; gedcom import

Hello. I'm new to Heredis, and still trying to figure out basic things before I import a 4,000 person gedcom file. I am hoping that Heredis will make it possible to stop software hopping (searching on ancestry.com, downloading docs and data, uploading them to my stable installation...) Two questions...
