Using an Event's Witness / Participants tab

It has taken a while, however I believe I have finally deduced the sequence of actions to using Heredis' Witnesses feature ( Data tab > Personal Data ). Heredis staff, please check my description below and either correct or confirm the actions to use Witnesses. While FTM does not have a Witness feat...

Re: Compatibility wit Family Tree Maker

Please see the discussion at - 'Source citations truncated during import via GEDCOM' in the 'Suggestions' list. The information in question is the Citation Details as shown in the attached graphic. Actually I am not surprise that Ancestry finally announced their intent to discontinue FTM. I noted th...

Re: Compatibility wit Family Tree Maker

Might I suggest you check the recent posts on the 'Heredis 2015 for Windows' and 'Suggestions' lists, particularly the posts at: http://www.heredis.com/en/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2405 Heredis offers the desktop capabilities of FTM 2012 or 2014 and more. Re: Capture Problem

I had no problem with the reset pop-up displaying. I am running Win 10 and have Adobe Flash Player. Flash Player seems to be required for a couple other new (2015) Heredis features.

Re: Living Persons

Not all genealogy software have a 'flag' to set for living / deceased. Of the six licensed genealogy software I have on this computer, only two have such a 'flag'. Is there a specific reason you seek such a 'flag'?

Re: HEREDIS vs FTM

Mike, From your first post, please see the following: Items 1 and 2 -- Unfortunately this problem is an interpretation of GEDCOM. Seems everyone views this couple of decades old 'standard' just a bit differently. Item 3 -- From Heredis icon bar, click Indexes > Sources. From the list of sources, dou...

Re: HEREDIS vs FTM

Not sure to which report you are referring, however check the Styles tab of the report. The Dates option on that tab has a down arrow (right end) that offers eight options. You can select everything from just the year to day of the week spelled out, followed by date month and year or from several op...

Re: Transferring a GEDCOM file

The links as identified in the GEDCOM file were for locations in the FTM Media folder. However, during import of the GEDCOM, Heredis makes a copy of those media files. The copies are in the sub-folders of Media as you identified. When Heredis asks you to identify the folder containing the media, you...

Re: HEREDIS vs FTM

Heredis transfers a copy of each file in your media folder to a new media folder in the Heredis project. You need to select the Heredis media folder when asked, not the FTM media folder. From within your Heredis project, on the Media index dialog select Tools (lower right) and Check Media. You may b...
