Re: unmarried couples
Well it's several months further on and I'm now using HEREDIS 2015 thinking that showing "unmarried couples" would now be resolved. It seems not. Married Status still as no option for "Not Married" You can customise Married in Events to "Not Married". But it will still show in reports as couple were married but date unknown. Can anyone help!
Re: unmarried couples
I think the lack of an official response to your posting means that you need to move this topic out of Coffee Corner and into Suggestions or one the main Heredis headings.
I think the lack of debate inspired and lack official follow up responses to postings here means Coffee Corner unfortunately is a waste of time.

Not meaning to throw a monkey wrench in this but how do you handle a same-sex couple where one had a kid and other adopted it?

Re: unmarried couples
SOLVED!!! well to me it is. I have treated my bio father and mother separately. This way Illustrated Book Reports won't show them as a married couple. First I entered myself then my mother's marriage to my step father adding a link from him too me as my(Guardian). Then I entered my bio father as an unrelated person but adding a link to me as my bio father. Illustrated Book Reports (Descendants) are acceptable. This way I can still continue with my bio fathers family tree and with my mothers family tree although there not actually shown together on my family tree but I'm sure I can put there war time relationship together in Notes......To answer alprunty I would highlight adoptive parent then use blue cross "add" button, highlight child concerned click on "choose", select "adoption" then click OK! Do same for bio mother but choose "bio parent" Good Luck hope that works for you!

Re: [Solved] unmarried couples
well it looks like HEREDIS 2017 as finally solved the problem of unmarried couples. If you set marrige status to cohabitee, BOOK reports now says Partener. This means I will have to purchase 2017 and as I have allready purchased 2014 and 2015 version I will not getting 2017 but stick with Family Tree Maker 2014
