linking ancestors

Post by nchris » Tue May 14, 2019 7:54 pm

I have two lines of geneology. One I have created myself for my ancestors and one created by another person within my family. They have researched back to 1560 and the descendants have been corrolated and confirmed with the research I have independently carried out. My paternal grandfather is shown on my tree as an ancestor and on the other tree as a descendant of the 1560 ancestor. All this data has been putinto one file. However, the 1560 andcestor and the descendants are not linked to my paternal grandfather from my research. Is there a short cut I can utilise to link my grandfather to the 1560 ancestor and my grandfathers position within that tree so that when I do an acester report from myself as the root person, it shows ALL of the ancesters back to 1560.

All this data has been putinto one file.
However, tried this in a copy of your single file :

Thank you for the advice. I will have a look at it over the next few days and report back.
