nickname/aka

Post by robertv2 » Sat Dec 28, 2013 12:22 pm

Where can I mention a nickname or aka when the person has already been entered? I have seen that by the entry of new persons there is a box.

Thank you Mike; since W98 you have always been a great help :D !
I'll try to reread the 'helpfiles' to see whether the official guide mentions this.

For aka names, might I point to the use of variations in the surname or given name indexes (Tools > Surnames Index or Tools > Given Names Index)? From an index list, select a name and click the Edit link to the right of Variants. After selecting Edit, another dialog displays to which you can add Variants, even identifying which is the primary name. (See pages 60 and 61 in the Acrobat help file.)

The one element I did not find is a way to link a source and citation to primary and variant names.
