Exporting Events with all linked witnesses

Post by astrids » Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:13 pm

I'm planning to do an analysis of godparent selection strategies within my genealogical corpus. I want to export a list with the following information about the baptisms in my database:
- Date of baptism
- Place of baptism
- ID number of child
- Name of child
- ID number and name of the godfather
- ID number and name of the godmother

I tried to export my heredis file to a gedcom file to convert it to a .cvs or exelfile to make this kind of database. The problem however is that when I export from heredis to gedcom only one of the two godparents is exported. Is there a way to export all witnesses linked to a certain event?

Apparently the gedcomfile does contain the witnesses. The problem is that I don't find a way to get them in an easy database structure, like exel or .cvs. When I export to any of these filetypes I lose all witnesses but one. Is there some kind of tool to deal with multi-person events?

Yes, and this is the most important ...
but then I do not know any utility that could exploit this information immediately.
You would write a macro for Excel ... and then I can not help you.
