Heredis can not see all media on my computer

Hi
I have recently bought Heredis 2014 for pc, and I am unable to add media to the media index as Heredis can not see all the media on my computer, I am using Windows 8.
I can view the media using explorer. Also Heredis seems to have a problem viewing pdf files, even though I should be able to import and view them according to the Heredis Help file.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS I love the program.

If you want to add a media of a type other than image, choose "all types"

Gedcom's do not carry medias ... only the addresses of the corresponding files on the originating machine
You will have to use "Locate Missing Media" from the "Media Index / Tools" to let Heredis know where they are located on your actual machine

Not many on my computer, guess I will have to copy, drag etc to get them on Heredis.
