We really appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention.
Indeed Heredis for Mac has yet fewer features than Heredis for Windows and we totally understand your disagreement.
However, with each new version, we complete the Mac version in order to be able to be at the same level as the Windows version.

We would be happy to be able to meet your expectations in the near future.

thx for your answer.

i assume that you have a release plan, showing when the feature „roue descendante“ is planned to be implemented. This info would be helpful for me.

kind regards

After more than 20 years in the genealogy field, we have perceived that the habits for the genealogical research and the use of different operating systems is not the same for english and french speaking users. This is the main reason why Heredis is implemented and developed differently.
Hi, Daniel,

There are some "pro" features which are more useful for the international market outside of the French speaking areas than for the French market.

The customisation of the list of particles is an example. By default, Heredis defines some particles "de, van, d', von, of" which should not be caplitalised and which should not be taking into account for the sorting of surnames.

These particles can only be customised in the Pro version.

The default particles are the particles needed by French speaking users living in France, Canada, Belgium or near the border with Germany but these default particles are not really that useful for an international market. They don't cater for Irish, Spanish or Scottish surnames, for example.

For the international edition, having the option to customise particles instead of the ones for the French-speaking areas would be more useful.

Why is the customisation of particles not included in the international version?
