This forum in terminal decline?
This once vigorous forum now seems to be moribund.
Since Heredis decided to stop answering questions here it has lost impetus and queries lack response.
We have no idea if the new direct method of answering queries works promptly and I would be interested to know if answers are generated quicker than previously -which was frequently lacking in efficiency.
I understand that this new approach avoids BSD airing their washing in public (as the saying goes) but when queries and answers were visible to all then users could learn from the responses and it kept interest in the software high.
I would be interested in other users thoughts.

Re: This forum in terminal decline?
Yep, the forum is disappointingly empty!
I'd love to be able to answer some questions, but my depth of knowledge is insufficient.
The 'emptiness' of this form doesn't exactly inspire confidence! Maybe the Heredis team could post some of the questions and answers on here regardless so we can all learn from there expertise. I feel like I have a number of questions that are just too silly to ask via formal request, I'm sure others feel the same way

Re: This forum in terminal decline?
I have the impression that the problem is not lack of people answering questions but more lack of questions.
I prefer asking my (more or less intelligent) questions here rather than via Heredis support because others might find them useful as well. I have benefitted myself from other people's questions.

Don't be shy! Please go ahead and ask in the forum. I am sure your questions will get answers. I don't think there are questions left unanswered by other community members.west-willcocks wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 7:42 pmI feel like I have a number of questions that are just too silly to ask via formal request, I'm sure others feel the same way

One thing that I have just realised is that the forums do not seem to come up as results in Google when you make a search.
The only way to find out about the forum is by going to the Help and Support page in Heredis (from the programme Help menu) and then click the Self-helf community link.
It could be that many Heredis users just do not know about the forums.
