Lost data

Post by cliffvenier » Fri Jun 26, 2015 10:20 pm

I loaded my GEDCOM that contained multiple census reference for individuals, but can only find one per person. Anybody else have that problem? Is there a solution?

No. I have many people with multiple census events and all census and other events are present. What did you name your census events (ie. I name each census event with the specific year, then Canadian, US, English, etc)? Have you double checked the contents of your GEDCOM file for a representative individual's event contents?

The only problem I ran into with the import you will see in the Suggestions folder. http://www.heredis.com/en/forums/viewto ... 5478#p5478

What program generated this Gedcom file ?
What program did you use to 'load' it ?

Could you display an extract of the Gedcom file showing how such events have been exported ?
Or could you send me this Gedcom file for analysis (ziped/compressed and by Private Message) ?
Cordialement.

You are right. I loaded the GEDCOM into Family Tree Maker 2014 and the censuses were missing. So, it is a problem with generating the GEDCOM. I previously used Master Genealogist, which has unfortunately been discontinued. Can you tell me why I might have lost those census in generating the GEDCOM from TMG?

Could you please identify what options / settings you used when creating the GEDCOM from TMG? Over the last three decades I have used and have current licenses to most of the current and past genealogy software. Perhaps Mike or I can help you with the settings for the GEDCOM export from TMG.
